Alcatel-Lucent has signed a multi year non exclusive agreement with leading relationship management company Convergys to integrates Convergys Infinys applications into Alcatel-Lucent’s Business Support System (BSS) solution. It includes a convergent billing solution combining Convergys and Alcatel-Lucent’s leading product portfolios in the prepaid and postpaid segments, and Alcatel-Lucent’s BSS integration services.
This agreement would strengthen Alcatel-Lucent’s BSS solution by incorporating Convergys’ Infinys applications. It extends Alcatel-Lucent’s portfolio of partners, providing pre-integrated solutions simplifying integration and deployment. It would help Convergys to extend the available market reach of Infinys through Alcatel-Lucent’s global presence.
According to Jean-Pierre Gaillat, Alcatel-Lucent’s Vice President of the global Software Integration Professional Services Practice, this partnership provides a key element of the converged BSS solution addressing service provider needs to improve business operations, with a single business software system that supports different payment methods, different services, including voice, multi-media and blended lifestyle services, along with the evolution to fixed mobile convergence.
It is expected that this reseller agreement would help new ground for Convergys. Through this agreement Alcatel-Lucent could now offer a complete, pre-integrated billing, rating and customer care solution, which would reduce operating costs, improve the customer experience and increase customer spend while helping to reduce churn. The converged solution leverages the market-leading positions of Alcatel-Lucent and Convergys in bringing to market innovative technologies in prepaid billing systems, rating and OSS/BSS integration to provide a single, integrated solution.
