After the huge success of iPhone, Apple is now ready with second version of the series. RApple is planning to showcase iPhone II in the Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) to be held in San Francisco from June 9, 2008.

The second generation of the iPhone is said to be equipped with 3G cellular network billed to transmit data much faster than the network used by iPhone I. There are also rumours that the new gadget will have features such as GPS capabilities, in-built instant messaging, video-chat capabilities, and support for voice-activated commands.
Apple began selling the 8-gigabyte iPhone at $599 in the U.S on June 29, 2007. It went on to become a super hit, despite the premium price.
It is expected that Apple chief executive Steve Jobs will launch the long-awaited 3G phone during his keynote speech at the Worldwide Developers’ Conference. Apple has packed enough material in the new launch to make the new phone more popular than its predecessor. According to sources close to the company they have used third-generation technology, making access to the internet faster. Currently iPhone users are struggling to get on to the internet if they are not in a wi-fi hotspot. The technology run on iPhone known as Edge, which can be twice as slow as 3G.
The price of the next-generation iPhone could be surprisingly low. The Fortune magazine has reported in April that the new version of the iPhone will be priced at a startlingly reduced $199. The existing versions are start from $399 and $499. According to sources the new iPhone can reach speeds of 700 Kbps to 1.7 Mbps on the downlink and 500 Kbps to 1.2 Mbps while uploading. The iPhone’s current location-detective technology is ingenious.
