Digg Recommendation Engine is Cracked!

This is what I see when in my recommendations page in Digg today.

digg recommendation engine

Either the Digg Recommendation Engine is on crack, or the submitters are!

Do Diggers have a life? 4 people submitting the same story in the space of a minute.

Just imagine them at their keybooards, eyes darting between windows, continuously refreshing their RSS reader to see if there is something FP-worthy that pops up! And then, a flurry of fingers and panicked breathing, they all submit the same story to Digg – from different parts of the world, for all you know.

You see who they’re posted by?

    The same person.

So i’m guessing the dude pressed refresh one too many times.

But i agree, there are people like that on the net. Scary.

@johmo Posted? You mean Recommended. They were all submitted by different people. They were dugg and thus Recommended by KevinFederline. That user is screwing up your Recommended stories by digging the same story submitted by different people. He should be digging one of them and burying the rest. That’s the thing about Digg, no matter how complex the algorithm are, you can’t account for human stupidity. Someone will find a way to screw it up.
