VSNL, Microsoft pact for web conferencing service

Service launches on MS Office Live Meeting Platform

24 Nov, 2005, Mumbai: Videsh Sanchar Nigam Limited has entered into a strategic pact with Microsoft India to launch web conferencing service that allows real-time, visually enriching online meetings.

The Tata Tata Indicom Web Conferencing Service launched on Tuesday on the Microsoft Office Live Meeting Platform is aimed to cater to the needs of small and medium business enterprises.

"This new offering by VSNL will help businesses to cut costs, increase their coverage area and give services within the reach of customers," media reports quoted VSNL Director Kishore Chaukar as saying.

Tat-run VSNLaims to increasing the range of services through this tie-up.
"The partnership can be extended to offering services including video and music, richer content and software on the tap of your computers," Kishore said.

According to Microsoft India Managing Director Neelam Dhawan the rapid growth of telecom networks and adoption of IT is fostering a market place that is ready for converged solutions.
