Day 2 saw newcomer Bennu Sehgall's debut titled "Originals". The collection was based on colours ranging from champagne to beige in chiffon and satin. The dresses were asymmetric and gowns were embellished with rhinestone straps. The men's wear comprised chiffon pants with wrap skirts, pleated off white trousers, and flowing black tissue robes.
Bennu, of course, became famous for all the wrong reasons. Model Carol Gracias who walked the ramp for her had a wardrobe malfunction when her halter-neck outfit came apart and fell to her waist. “While we were doing the fittings, I had specifically asked Sehgall to tighten the strap of the halter neck, but when I wore it for the show, I realised it wasn’t done. My helper tried to use a pin, but the fabric was too thick and it didn’t go through,” Gracias said. “I’ve never been so embarrassed in my life.”
Sehgall however insisted it was an accident. “She dealt with it beautifully and finished my show. I’m obliged,” said
Bennu.
Gracias said she would never model for Sehgall again. “If it wasn’t her fault, I wouldn’t mind, but she’s not even serious about her own work,” she said.
