LIFW 2006 - SABYASACHI MUKHERJEE

Sabyasachi Mukherjee wows buyers at LIFW

30 March 2006
MUMBAI, INDIA

< First > <Next>

There has been a surfeit of embellishment and bright colours on the ramp in the first two days of LFW. Departing from the tinsel, Sabyasachi Mukherjee's collection titled 'The Snail' was all about quiet elegance. His previous collections--think Frog Princess, Nair Sisters--have always been young and colourful. But Sabyasachi seems to be all grown up now. 'The Snail' is a very calming collection in red, brown, grey, off-white, acid yellow, mud green, pale pink, and pale blue.

The collection had awesome separates in velvet, cotton, voile, satin, silk, printed twill weaves, and chiffon. There were a lot of handwoven prints.

Sabyasachi also presented beautifully crafted saris with embroidery and glitter on borders. There were blouses and cholis in ecru and contrast trims with big sleeves.
