Fujitsu to introduce mobile phone with underwater TV viewing

Leading mobile accessories manufacturer Fujitsu is planning to introduce a mobile phone, the Fujitsu F706i, with a ability to watch TV even when underwater. Why anyone would want to do it – who knows!

With the slim Fujitsu F706i, customers could watch television shows from underwater besides speaking with someone below water.

The phone has the initial operating range of up to 6 meters underwater. Now company is trying to solve short range problem using improved technology. The new Fujitsu 137 grams hot F706i model is considered as a major technological leap in the fields of mobile phone services. The waterproof technology would help in connected always even amidst adverse weather conditions.

With the inbuilt 2-megapixel camera, the clamshell model with 2.7 inch screen will allow customers to take medium resolution photographs of the water creatures while playing underwater, or during monsoon periods without affecting functions of the phone. Size of the phone is measured only 109×49×16.9mm. The medium sized screen of F706i will not put any hindrance in seamless TV watching while walking through the rainy days.

Other key exotic features that are likely to part with the Fujitsu F706i all weather robust mobile phone handset are HSDPA connection compatibility, inbuilt software to access audio and video files, integrated Mobile TV functionalities, and Micro SDHC card slot etc. The new model will be an upgraded version of the company’s earlier released waterproof model F703i. The company has yet not divulged anything about the cost of this new product.

The company has not yet announced the details of the Fujitsu F706i’s price and availability. It is expected that they will launch the product first Japan and then move around depending on its popularity. The phone may not be used underwater, but seems to be of good use during monsoons.
