Maruti Suzuki will display some of its new international models like the Suzuki Escudo, Solio, Hayabusa and Rally Swift at the upcoming Auto Expo in New Delhi.

The Escudo was launched in August this year, and is sold in some markets as the Suzuki Grand Vitara. (The Grand Vitara is already available in India, which is also an imported model.)

The Suzuki Escudo is expected to have a two-litre engine. it may be priced at Rs 12-15 lakh. The car is expected to be available from late 2006.

The SUV Escudo on Indian roads will be pitted against the Honda CR-V, Ford Endeavour, Tata Safari and Hyundai Tucson. 

Besides the Suzuki Escudo, the Maruti Suzuki stall at Auto Expo will also host the Rally Swift and the Suzuki Solio. The Suzuki Solio is a variant of Wagon-R, which is a disabled-friendly vehicle.

Maruti Suzuki will also showcase the Suzuki Hayabusa, a performance car popular in the motorsports arena. Maruti will also have a separate motorsports section at its Auto Expo stall.

The Auto Expo is a biannual auto fest hosted by the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) on the lines of its foreign cousins like the Detroit Show and the Frankfurt Auto Show. This is the Eighth Auto Expo to be conducted by CII.
