Indiana Jones 4 movie: Script ready

The fourth part of Indiana Jones may go into production soon, now that the final script is in place to the satisfaction of Harrison Ford, Steven Spielberg, and George Lucas.

Finally, after ages of back-and-forth over the fourth part of Indiana Jones, Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford are happy with the script. The project had been kick-started in January 2002 but has yet to hit the floors. Initially, writer-director, Frank Darabont of The Green Mile fame was roped in to script the film. However, the draft was rejected by George Lucas.

But it looks like Indiana Jones 4 is ready to roll now that the script is in place. "Steven Spielberg and I now have a script in hand that we both like. I believe that we can start with the filming soon," Ford told a German magazine.

However, no one's giving a firm date. That would depend on the schedules of Ford, Spielberg, and producer George Lucas. Ford has not commented on the start date. George Lucas' partner Rick McCallum is reported to have said Lucas has finished the script and passed it on Ford and Spielberg who's having a few things rewritten.

Meanwhile, there have been reports that Spielberg may take some time off after doing War of the Worlds and Munich. However, those reports have been squashed by Spielberg's publicist who said that Spielberg is working on Indiana Jones 4 as well as Lincoln, a biopic on Abraham Lincoln.
