My Brother Nikhil wins award at International Film Festival

My Brother Nikhil has won the Audience Choice award at the Milan Gay and Lesbian film festival.

MUMBAI, INDIA

Director Onir's debut film My Brother Nikhil has won the Audience Choice award at the Milan Gay and Lesbian film festival.

My Brother Nikhil is a wonderful, sensitive film about homosexuality and victims of HIV. The film that stars Sanjay Suri, Juhi Chawla, Victor Banerjee, Lilette Dubey, Dipannita Sharma and Shayan Munshi was released in 2005.

The film has also been nominated for the TMG Global Media awards. According to an NDTV report, Onir is all set to screen his next film Bas Ek Pal at the eighth Osian Cinefan Festival to be held in New Delhi.

Bas Ek Pal will star Sanjay Suri, Urmila Matondkar, Jimmy Shergill and Juhi Chawla.

The film which is due for release on August 25, deals with relationships between different characters and how an incident brings them together.
