NICOLE KIDMAN AND KEITH URBAN MARRIAGE

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban to get married in Australia

Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman have announced that they are in Australia to get married soon.

16 June 2006
MUMBAI, INDIA

Country music singer Keith Urban and Oscar-winner Nicole Kidman have announced that they had returned to Australia to be married.

The couple said in a statement issued by Nicole Kidman's publicist that they are happy to be back in Australia to celebrate their wedding with family and friends. Last month, Kidman and Urban had announced that they were engaged.

According to local media, the couple will probably get married at a Catholic church near Kidman's home in Sydney's northern suburbs. Speculation is rife that the wedding will take place this weekend, on June 25.

Earlier in January, Kidman has mentioned that the Mary Mackillop Chapel in North Sydney could be a venue for the wedding, according to the Catholic News Service. Kidman's family lives a few blocks away from the Chapel. According to reports, the guest line-up will include Naomi Watts, Russell Crowe and Hugh Jackman, director Baz Luhrmann, and Rupert Murdoch and his wife Wendi Deng.

There is tight security at the Kidman home in Sydney to keep away the paparazzi.

Nicole Kidman was earlier married to superstar Tom Cruise for 10 years. They have two adopted children. Both, Kidman and Urban are 38 years old and are fellow Australians. Kidman was born in Hawaii but grew up in Australia. Urban was born in New Zealand but was brought up in Australia. The two met at an awards function held by the Australian government to honour both of them.

Urban has won a Grammy in 2005 for the song You'll Think of Me. Kidman has won an Oscar for her role in The Hours.
