Nokia launches five new phone models

At Nokia Connection this year, Nokia launched five new mid-range phones.

MUMBAI, INDIA

Nokia has launched five new mid-range handsets, including a 3G camera handset and 2 CDMA phones, that should hit the shelves this year. The new models were launched at Nokia Connection in Singapore, its annual event to showcase new products and services.

Nokia calls the 3G phone, the Nokia 6151, the most affordable handset till date. The 6151 has features such as streaming multimedia audio and video content and a 1.3 megapixel camera with dedicated camera key, 4x zoom, landscape-mode and video recorder; 30MB user memory, music player, stereo FM and Visual Radio; and Bluetooth wireless technology.

The 6151 will hit the shelves in July-September and will be priced at 240 euros ($303). It will be available in Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia. 

The other 3G phone Nokia 6080 is largely targeted at Asians. This camera phone combines camera and video recorder capabilities with a stereo FM radio, and has a large color display with illuminated keypad layout. Consumers can personalize the phone with wallpapers, themes, and a Sudoku game. The Nokia 6080 will be available in black, gold, and silver.

According to the company, the phone allows browsing for news and convenient uploading of images , and fast data connections. 

The Nokia 6080 will be retailed in the fourth quarter of 2006 and will cost around EUR180.

According to the company, the Nokia 6275/6275i phone has a high-resolution 2-megapixel camera, a high-resolution 262,144 color 240 x 320 pixel QVGA screen and a built-in digital music player.

The Nokia 2875/2875i phone boasts of a high-quality 1.3-megapixel camera and Bluetooth 2.0 wireless technology for compatibility with a wide range of Bluetooth-enabled devices.

Both the 6275 and 2875 will hit the shelves in the fourth quarter of 2006.

The entry-level Nokia 1110i will retail at 45 euros in the third quarter of 2006. This model will provide cost-management features such as the Nokia Pre-paid Tracker to help monitor phone usage.
