Motorola has unveiled a super sleek mobile handset – SLVR L7, triggering yet another round of “mobile warfare” between firms competing with each other to bring out slimmer and slimmer mobile handsets.

Motorola’s latest offering is even narrower than a normal credit card, media reports said. The normal credit card size is 86x5 mm, but Motorola SLVR L7 is about 50 per cent taller than the normal credit card, media reports said.

But even though it is slimmer, the Motorola SLVR L7 handset has 5.0 MB memory, illuminated key pad with metallic spun finish, glass display and an anodized aluminium battery flap, all at a cost of Rupees 12,820! The phone also allows 512 MB of external memory with a removable memory card.

The handset is even slimmer than the Motorola RAZR’s 13.9mm. It has a phone book which can store up to 1000 entries.

The Motorola SLVR L7 phone also gives the option to download, save and store music and video clips. The SLVR L7 also has TransFlash/ Micro SD memory card providing additional storage capacity for users.

Moreover, it also has a digital audio player. The slim phone also gives the option for users to set any recordable audio as ring tones. Its 176x220 pixel 262k colour TFT display provides the backdrop for excellent picture and video quality, industry sources said.

Apart from all these features, the mobile supports Bluetooth-enabled headsets including the Motorola Bluetooth Headset H500.

A full-duplex hands-free speaker phone is another major attraction which could wean business users to the Motorola SLVR L7.

It also has a unique feature named wireless village, which defines open connections with existing instant messaging providers allowing users to go beyond SMS-based chats to char rooms including Yahoo, AOL and ICQ.
Its speaker phone even allows conference calls. Internet access through the mobile is extremely speedy.
