Honda Civic in India by August 2006
The Honda Civic could be Honda's answer to Skoda Octavia and
Corolla in India.

30th November,2005: Honda is planning to launch Honda Civic, its D-segment car in India in August 2006. Honda is planning to meet the likes of Toyota Corolla and Skoda Octavia head on.
Civic cars were started in 1972 as a three-door hatchback and now has 16 million satisfied customers worldwide. The eighth generation of the Civic, the Honda Civic will be manufactured in India, China and Vietnam.
The Honda Civic which follows Honda City's one-motion principle has a sporty stance. The Civic's headlamps slant upto the two sides of the grille, while the rear side comes with a cut-off tail and the lights are arranged in a ring-shaped pattern.
Honda Civic sports a powerful 1800cc i-VTEC engine that can deliver 140bhp. The car may also come with a 5 speed auto tyranny. The interiors have been remodified a bit, to get a feel of that extra space. The long wheelbase adds to this feeling.
A futuristic multifunctional display with an electroluminescent tacho is placed behind the three-spoke, small diameter steering wheel. The display also shows a digital speedo and temperature and fuel gauges.
The Honda Civic has split rear seats and the trunk capacity is 438 litres. Honda had earlier planned its Honda Civic launch in June 2006, but now its has formally announced its Honda Civic launch in August 2006.
The Honda Civic will be manufactured in India in the Honda's Greater Noida plant outside New Delhi. The expected price of Honda civic in India is around 10-11
lakhs.
