Nokia plans to launch a competitor to the Blackberry. Nokia E62 is all set to hit the stands in a few days from now. Details of the E62 are already out and looking at the stats, experts are not too impressed.
Nokia E62 seems like a Blackberry at the first sight. But having a good long look will unveil the differences. Nokia E62 runs on Symbian 9.1 and S60 3.0 operating system. Though it has GPRS and EDGE technologies, it lacks 3G and Wi-Fi. Sure to raise some eye brows, though.
The latest cell phone from Nokia comes in GSM bands 850/1900 and has Bluetooth 1.2 technology. The screen resolution is 240X320 and comes in 256,000 colors. Nokia E62 will feature a miniUSB instead of Nokia's usual port.
E62 will have a button for Push E-mail just like in a Blackberry. SInce its has a USB mass storage mode, so it can work just like a hard drive. It will have QuickOffice for viewing and editing. The phone will have Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
Nokia E62 will feature the Screen Export feature so that the user can run Powerpoint presentations on the phone with compatible projectors.
NOkia E62 can be called a stripped down version of E61, minus 3G and Wi-Fi. And minus the enterprise mail capabilities too. The E62 will also have a modified keyboard to make room for a "My Own" key.
