21st November, 2005: Quake 4 for the Xbox 360 video game console and entertainment system has started shipping to retailers worldwide, Id software and Activision, Inc have announced. Quake 4, a futuristic war game from Id Software. its predecessors, Quake, Quake II and Quake III Arena were immensely popular, and Quake 4 is expected to be a bestseller.

The suggested retail price for Quake 4 is $59.99. The game carries an 'M' (Mature -- Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Strong Language) rating by the ESRB.

Todd Hollenshead, CEO, id Software said, "with QUAKE 4 for Xbox 360, gamers can now take the battle for Stroggos to the home theater as this epic war for survival comes to life with true high-definition sights and 5.1 surround sound".

Quake 4 is developed by Raven software and executive produced by id Software. The game begins right after the events of Quake 2, with Earth's fleet launching a massive offensive to the planet Stroggos. The gamer is Matthew Kane, and he, along with other marines invade the alien stronghold. The game goes through many missions and we can see the disturbing amalgamations of man and machine during the game. 

XBOX Live online gaming system is expected to raise the standards of the online gaming with its Capture the Flag, Arena Capture the Flag, Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and an all new Tournament mode for up to 8 players.

Quake 4 for Xbox 360 comes loaded with multiple features including hours of bonus content, including behind-the-scenes videos and a complete version of QUAKE II(R), re-engineered exclusively for Xbox 360 featuring up to 4-player support for co-operative play and multiplayer support over System Link.
